LAB Verduyn BV. regularly visits the Goudse Machinefabriek in Waddinxveen to perform welding inspections. This time it concerns a "paddle dryer". This machine collects sludge from the water surface, and converts it to a dry substance. This substance is used as raw material for concrete, a good example of environmentally friendly recycling. The Hardox, RVS rotating parts and the welds of the paddle dryer are regularly inspected cause of the aggressive sludge makes the dryer is subject to wear. After an inspection round, all findings are reported in an inspection report, and if needed there could be an advice to repair.

Both shafts are equipped with 50 welded "Hardox paddles" to transport the sludge and dry it under high temperatures.
