Training and certification of welders and welding procedures for the manufacturing of 29 "Forward Guideposts".

In April we traveled to the firm Damen Marine Components (DMC) Suzhou in China, in order to give guidance for training and certification of welders and welding procedures. DMC has started with the manufacturing of 29 "Forward Guideposts", these guide posts consist of a martensitic stainless steel casting, in combination with a carbon steel Ø508x50mm pipe foundation. These "fairleads" are used in combination with 60mm Lankoforce ropes on the Damen "ASD 3212 Tug boats".
